The Wobble application lets you bring photos to life and make parts of these pictures bounce in 3D. You can add wobble regions and start pinching and dragging different regions to make them wobble up and down. Use these effects on a picture of boobs and you’ll have a fascinating picture that will keep you excited for a long time. Racing games and the iPhone is a match made in heaven. The in-built tilt technology lends itself perfectly to manoeuvring the car as it mimics a steering wheel. Unlike many other racing games the developers of Fast and Furious really seemed to have nailed the interface between the game controls and the iPhone’s accelerometer. There is no ridiculous over steer or need to tilt your iPhone too far in one direction to make the car budge an inch. Sensitivity is often a problem with racing games but Fast and Furious has been perfectly calibrated to provide players with a game that feels realistic but with an element of control in place. Pinball games in any setting are great fun, so playing Wild West Pinball for the iPhone is always going to provide you with hours of entertainment. Rather unsurprisingly the aim of the game is to get as many points as you can by nudging nodes, bouncing bonuses and generally pelting your ball to within an inch of its life. You get three balls to get the best score possible and the game makes excellent use of the iPhone’s touch screen technology. Toobz pits you and your spanner against the clock as you race to construct an elaborate maze to channel the impeding rush of water about to spoil your lawn. The mechanics of the game are based on the popular Tetris game, which means you have to find the right shaped pipe to connect to another and create a continuous chain of blocks. Unfortunately, the exact type of pipe you need doesn’t just appear and you often have to wade through numerous other shapes until you get the right fitting pipe and when you’re racing against the clock this really puts the pressure on. OK, maybe no the drugs part but the latest offering by Gameloft, Guitar Rock Tour, sets out to combine the latest craze in computer gaming with the iPhone’s cutting edge touch technology. Following in the footsteps of Guitar Hero and Rock Band this addictive application puts users’ digital dexterity to the test as they shred away to the music like a cross between Slash and Mozart. At £3.49/ $5 the application is at the upper end of the games ladder, however, the combination of smooth graphics, pumping acoustics and classic track list make the application excellent value. We love our iPhones, no doubt about it and that’s why I want to issue a note of caution when downloading Copter. Originally developed an internet game played by bored office workers and students this simple game has taken on cult status. If I were to review this game purely on its aesthetics the description would be something that closely resembled a crash landing with a pile of pejoratives falling onto the page. Fortunately, spectacular graphics aren’t what this game is about and what it lacks in style it certainly makes up for in pure gaming fun. Hero of Sparta might not be able to emulate the Hollywood blockbuster 300 but by my reckoning it isn’t too far off (hence the 299). Hero of Sparta is like a cross between Streets of Rage and Tomb Raider. Your job is guide a Spartan hero through a 3D world of mythical beasts and demons, all of which have been sent to slice you into tiny pieces. The intermittent movie sequences and 3D world give the game its Tomb Raider feel and the developers have produced a world that well constructed with many realistic features. The flowing water and flags blowing in the breeze are a testament to the attention to detail and work that have gone into the graphics. Read the rest of this entry »
Mark of Mafia has taken the iPhone community by storm since its inception. The interactive strategy game plunges you into the depths of the underworld and it’s your job to build up a family that can rise to the top of the criminal fraternity. At the start of the game you must decide where your family’s interests lie: capitalist (money hungry), psychopaths (obsessed with carrying out criminal activity) or executioners (trigger happy nutters). From here it is up to you how you shape your family and what goals you want to achieve. Because this type of game relies on the interaction between players across the world there are no set targets to achieve and no specific objective in site. Players are free to set their own agendas, some will want to buy as many of the varied businesses as possible, while others may just want to run riot amongst the other players by compiling an arsenal that would rival the American Army. In Dead Man’s Dungeon your a prison guard at one of the most creepy prisons in the world. One night, all dead inmates have returned to collect some of their lost jewels. Your job is to get rid of all skeletons and to steal their precious diamonds. Here’s a feature list of this nice looking 3D first person shooter for iPhone and iPod Touch:

iPwnGames has become one of the most visited iPhone gamesites in the world, but unfortunately it doesn’t get enough fresh content. To give our visitors the cool iPhone gaming news and updates they deserve, I have come up with a nice plan that will also give iPhone game developers the opportunity to give their games the exposure they deserve.
We’re giving iPhone game developers of all sizes the opportunity to do a developers diary blog on iPwnGames every now and then. We know that most iPhone game developers have their own personal and corporate blogs, but by posting something about their iPhone developers experiences on our site they could reach some new gamers and lead traffic to their own personal blogs as well. It would also help us to give our site the content it deserves and to get some hardcore iPhone gamers to the site that might be interested in writing for us!
I’ve sent out emails to a large part of the iPhone game developers community, but I’m sure I missed a whole lot of good iPhone game developers so shoot me an email at info [at] ipwngames [d.ot] com if you’re an iPhone developer who’s interested in doing some sort of developers diary at iPwnGames!
